PART ONE: INTRODUCING BADGERS

Crafters, Hunters, Lawkeepers

Badgers are a solitary People by nature, preferring the peace and dark of the Wild Wood, where they can rest at ease. They do not gather in large groups, except at the behest of the Burrow Council and even then uncomfortably. They have, by necessity, learned to live with their Stoat nei…

There are nine playable cultures in the game. It is not possible to play other non listed cultures, even though you may meet some in play. The nine playable cultures are the commonly accepted True Peoples – those who have retained the power of language and debate.

An Important Accouncement

For a variety of reasons, we have made a change to the way in which the Winter in the Willows game is run. When we started this game, we planned to run two events per IC year: Downtime II would be directly followed by Winter. However, we have decided that we wish to increase the number of games running per IC year, and so, Event III will occur before Winter, not after it.

PART ONE: INTRODUCING STOATS

Hunters, Explorers, Shamans

It is said by most People of the Land that after the bloodshed of the Knifewinter, unlike most other creatures that tried to cling to the trappings of what they call “Civilisation”, Stoats embraced their Wild nature and now live as fierce, cannibalistic tribes in the heart of the forest, devo…

PART ONE: INTRODUCING TOADS

Scavengers, Tinkerers and Nobles

After the final days of the Race of Man, in the months when the Weasel gangs seized London-That-Was, Toad entrepreneurs began to trickle in to the City. They came in dribs and drabs mostly, lacking the sense of community that the other People had - the Water Rat crews, or the Mole's Union.…

With Thanks

We’ve used Profound Decisions’ weapon safety rules as a basis for our own, with some minor development to suit Winter in the Willows events.

We’d like to thank them for giving us their permission and their support.

CULTURAL INTRODUCTION

PART ONE: INTRODUCING WEASELS

Adventurers, Merchants & Politicians

During the Knifewinter, the Weasels rose up and took the cities from the humans, each gang taking over corners of the London-That-Was, occasionally jostling for territory between each other - united though, in conserving the City for themselves. Weasels see their City - ‘Mother Lond…
